Explore Clear Ground’s digital projects for housing and homelessness work. These demonstrations show how specialist sector knowledge can be translated into practical tools that organise information and support professional reasoning.
Prototype — available to explore

Portfolio project · Demonstration available
Building on my experience of creating an earlier accommodation-suitability tool, I have built a new Clear Ground version from scratch with newly written code.
The project focuses on a practical challenge: helping officers bring together household circumstances, property evidence and their reasons when assessing accommodation suitability within statutory homelessness work.
The work so far includes two workbook editions and a separate web-based demonstration.
A structured Excel workbook bringing together household circumstances, property evidence, unanswered questions and officer findings, with a summary and draft letter. It works without VBA macros.
An edition with additional VBA-enabled recording and export features, including a case log and actions for producing summary and letter PDFs. VBA execution in desktop Excel remains to be tested.
A four-step walkthrough using a fictional household and proposed property. It shows how evidence, unanswered questions and professional reasoning can be organised into an assessment record. Selected workbook images show the underlying design.
The online demonstration illustrates the approach; it does not run the Excel workbooks or VBA, collect case information or make a suitability decision.

The workbooks have been built, with initial formula and layout checks carried out in an office suite. Desktop Excel testing remains outstanding, including VBA execution and a final print-layout check. Legal accuracy has not been independently validated.
This is a portfolio demonstration, not a tool offered for operational use. Working files are not available as public downloads.
